The Clifton-Fine neighborhood of the Adirondack Mountains is located along New York State Highway 3 approximately 60 miles East of Watertown, NY and 75 miles West of Lake Placid, NY. Such places as the Five Ponds Wilderness are nature at its "forever wildest". New York State snowmobile corridor trails connect the area to miles of winter wonderland, weather permitting. Folks sit around campfires in all seasons and bandy around the Theory of Spacial Quantification (or is it Quantanization?) The Clifton-Fine Golf Course, with nine challenges, is not just another pretty place. Next to the golf course, the Clifton-Fine Arena presents family events year-round. Houghton College facility, on the shores of Star Lake, and six miles to the east, the idyll called Wanakena and its legendary SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, are easy trips. The Clifton-Fine Hospital is located in Star Lake, it is the "Smallest Hospital with the Biggest Heart!" If you stand in the right spot you CAN use your cell phone (and we are working on options). We do have some small merchants who accept credit cards and AAA. We are even working on the black fly situation. Thanks, Tom! |
